A very good experience. We came here on the recommendation of a friend and it is a gem in the rough. Remove your predisposition about restaurants attached to gas stations as this is nothing like that sketchy fair. Think comfort food where everything is smothered in gravy and serving sizes are more than generous. I tried the fried chicken livers and they were well cooked and very crispy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were very good but the mac and cheese was runny and kind of lackluster. Our waitress was very kind and attentive throughout the meal. Cost was a touch higher than the average but I think that the portion sizes make up for the difference soo I will not deduct any points on this front.
This place has been around for years. Always always good food and great service. Very very good prices. Still has onion rings on the menu all you can eat fish fry on Fridays and a captain's platter. Down home atmosphere friendly surroundings, with all of this who would think that it's next to a gas station but don't let that fool you ,you will be pleased
Tonight i decided to try "Pop's Restaurant" and frankly I enjoyed the best Burger I've had in years. The entire meal had that home/cooked old fashioned diners taste. The service was likewise fantastic, Michelle was out server and I couldn't have asked anyone more sincere kind and helpful. 10/10
AMAZING! There isn't a whole lot of real food in Kingsport, BUT this place is so good! I love the catfish plate and the corn nuggets I haven't had corn nuggets since I moved here from Florida hands down the best! Great and caring staff! I would give them 10 stars if I could! ...
This is the Pop’s special omelet (eggs stuffed with sausage and hash browns) and biscuits smothered with gravy. They’re proud of their gravy here; it’s great — tastes like a gumbo roux! Pop’s restaurant in Kingsport, Tennessee. There was a line at the door before its 7 am opening time.
I am ready to go back. First time there. Ordered chicken livers, enough for 3 people, so good. Corn nuggets were yummy! Mom and pop place, little slow but freshly cooked food.
A group of us went to Pop’s every Sunday for breakfast, and it was great! Good food, prices, and service. Sadly, Pop’s isn’t open on Sunday any more, but we still go for breakfast and lunch occasionally. Same friendly place to eat!
Fantastic home-style breakfast. The staff were all friendly & worked as a team to make sure everyone was well taken care of. We enjoyed the pancakes & Pop's omlette. Both were generously-sized & delicious. Obviously everything was homemade & prepared with pride. Pop's is exactly what a diner should be.
